RAVEN’S WING
To the men and women of the raven, greetings.
As always over the summer months, there's lots going on. I have enclosed the details for Kirby Hall. Please remember that you will need your membership cards to get in - apparently they are issuing exit passes this year, so it looks as though someone will actually be making a more thorough check than in past times. If you, or any stray family members don ’t have your membership cards (through loss or whatever) you can get weekend passes from Tony Sayer (number in the Runestaff) IN ADVANCE.
In the meantime, a few words from Cormac:
Hello everyone
It’s been quite a busy month what with Edington, Rookwood school, Amesbury, Odstock and Kings Park shows, but it has meant we didn’t have to unpack the car between events. Big thanks to Roger Wendy and Emm for putting everyone up for the weekend, and for building a barbeque just because our Roger said that there would be one there in the evening. Hello to Les who’s just joined us because a certain ‘superficially similar society' wouldn’t let him be a Viking, and a well done to our Roger for putting him on the Saxon side at his first show. Thanks to all those who helped out, the comments we got back were very good, and we can expect to re-visit at least a couple of those next year. Also a couple of shows around Chippenham are in the pipeline, one indoor very early on next year, the other a Major show, details will be made available a little closer to the time.
Due to the weather and.. well more not wanting to get up early in the morning really.. the second pig roast we planned for Amesbury was postponed, and should happen at Old Sarum at the end of the August. That should give us at little bit more time to tidy up afierwards, and find out what Mortimer does with the car keys this time.
We are still holding training in Salisbury on a Tuesday night, which has been well attended what with all the good weather we ’ve been having. As always everyone is welcome to join us, if only for the drink in the pub afterwards.
I now have a phone number (01980) 594953, and a fixed address of 678 Netheravon Road, Durrington, Salisbury, Wiltshire, SP4 8AX So if anyone needs any more information about any of the shows please don ’t hesitate to contact me.
I hope to see you all soon
